Masada and the Dead Sea- Full day tour

Crossing Jerusalem towards the east, lies the Judea desert. Its a "Mountain shadow desert", not part of the global desert belt. It owns its creation to the Dead sea transom (known also as the Jordan rift valley, part of the Syro-African Depression).

Embarking on this tour to witness the world heritage site of Masada- a refuge built by king Herod the great (was he ever there?) and later used by rebels.
Early Christianity witnesses monasteries set in the "Desert of the holy city", the archeological finding of the city of Qumeran- home to a special group of people. Who were they? How did they live- and what rituals did they follow?

Finally, it should be noted that nature hikes through the ravine, dramatic fault line cliffs- to see the Ibex's climb, Rock Hyrax's play hide and seek, the local Tristram bird (where did she get her name from?), water in the desert and much more!
